Le concept de construction de l'architecte Ben van Berkel est une double hélice réinventée, sur la base de laquelle les structures 3D de forme libre "TWIST" et "MYTH" ont été développées.

Impressions sur le processus de projet
L'exécution de ce projet très impressionnant a nécessité une ingénierie unique et une mise en œuvre de l'assemblage sur le chantier.
Sur la base des coulées de maquettes, la faisabilité des procédures de planification a pu être vérifiée, de même que la détermination de la réalisation des surfaces de béton possibles.
En raison des caractéristiques spéciales des formes des composants requis, les nombreuses surfaces torsadées ont été réalisées avec des unités de coffrage 3D assemblées dans les installations de montage de PERI.
Mise en œuvre du modèle de grille 3D sur le chantier de construction avec des positions d'ancrage et des joints de panneaux de coffrage clairement définis.
Les grandes quantités de matériaux de coffrage et le court délai de construction ont exigé un très haut niveau d'engagement de la part de toutes les personnes impliquées dans le projet.
Outre la contribution importante apportée par la construction de coffrages sur mesure, un large éventail d'équipements de série a été utilisé.
Le 20 mai 2006, le musée Mercedes-Benz a été officiellement ouvert aux visiteurs du monde entier.
Le projet de l'architecte néerlandais Ben van Berkel évite dans une large mesure l'utilisation de coins et d'arêtes. Le concept de base repose sur une double hélice.
Jusqu'à 5 000 visiteurs par jour s'émerveillent devant 120 ans d'histoire de l'automobile au musée Mercedes-Benz.
